It sure is warm for February. . .I'll bet the groundhog left for colder climates to beat this heatwave we're having. I saw a flock of birds the other day that took flight, going South from the Midwest, only a few days ago! What's really going on???????? Normal is as normal does. Do you agree that this is not normal? Anyhoo, life is breezy, good. I exalt God with my hands and heart lifted high! How about you? No matter what rut you may find yourself in, it's okay. Be watchful because you aint seen nothing yet. Something's coming on the earth, and it's coming fast. If you noticed, this past Thanksgiving meshed right into Christmas which was overshadowed by the New Year. I don't even remember the countdown to the New Year. Do you? 2012 is proving to be the real countdown. . .If you hear me, you know exactly what I am saying, right? The End - 10...9...8...7...6...5...4...3...2...

REFLECTIONS+
Marriage
Everyone, just about, is talking about it now
Marriage.
I wish someone had talked to me about it years ago
Marriage , that is.
As a forwarding young woman contemplating "I do's"
I certainly could have benefited from sound advice
Regarding marriage. . .
Regarding my marriage.
I went into it without reading the "fine print"
My marriage, that is.
It is a contract, you know
Me? I didn't know this
(about) My marriage. . .
My marriage happened.
With nay saying eyes as witnesses
I'm told at the altar, "Til death!"
When?? (when) My marriage happened, that is.
If I could "I do" it all over again,
I would choose my first love
Regarding my marriage. . .
Now, Folks, the truth of the matter is that marriage is hard work for anyone. I do not see why anyone in their right minds would delve into it as a matter of "rights". My advice - tread lightly, weigh the costs. I found out that marriage is more of a spiritual, than natural, right of passage. That is what I believe the controversies in society mainly stem from today.
God's Word reveals a clear case that calls for all of our understanding. Marriage is about Him, it is not about us. It is not about sex or procreation even. Truth be told - it is about order! That's right! keeping things on this earth in order. God likes things to be decent and in order. He is not an advocate of a lot of confusion, so He makes things plain for us to follow and understand them.
There are so many examples of this, here's a few:
- Sun and moon
- Day and night
- Heaven and earth
- Male and female
Scriptures support the notion of God preferring order after He gave mankind a charge to have dominion on the earth in that He left us to choose. We chose confusion and chaos instead. Something our Creator winked at for a long time before He decided we needed an "intervention", a.k.a. a flood, and set up laws at some point to show His original design and intent for mankind in comparison to what we were choosing for ourselves.
I don't need to bring up the (rhymes with "grey") matter at hand buzzing in our society today. Because it doesn't matter as much as everybody seems to think. What matters, then? I can't say that I know all the answers, but I do know that His Word does have answers to legitimate questions. It's just a matter of gaining understanding on all of our parts as citizens of the earth to HEAR what is being said. The answers are not in bold print or flashing letters for our perusal. We truly have to do a thorough search to find - truth. And truth can sometimes turn out to be quite harsh, it seems.
In the book of Romans (Chapter 7) it talks about being married in Christ. A guy named Matthew Henry made a comment on it long ago (similar to the blogs of today) saying that being brought into union with Christ is like being married to Another person. And the reason that God lists all that "stuff" equated with sin is only because that is what or who we chose to become acquainted with in union; therefore, in marriage. And when one chooses to marry another it is legally binding.
Only death can repeal it - sin. This is why the body of Jesus Christ is so important. His death legally divorces us from the "stuff" or sins we are forever bound to in this life (that 'ol ball and chain). I certainly don't want to die in order to get out of a bad marriage, do you? If Christ wanted to do it for you, I say let Him!!!
But guess what? His offer to help was because He's "in love" with mankind. Sooooooo the second marriage is to Christ for those who are willing to accept His proposal. Hey, first marriages suck for most people anyway; and real love is so hard to find.
. . .Marriage - it's not about the gay or straight of it, at all.

trust me nots
LEANING ON MY OWN UNDERSTANDING
Is not what's best for me.
I don't trust me all that much--
Wishy washy, flip floppy
Is mostly what I see
It does not matter
How I long to be sincere.
I prove to be a liar--
Every time I try to seek Him higher
Egg is always on my face
I swallow hard
My pride that is.
And keep on keeping--
The lesson for me is yet to be learned
That God is the Keeper that keeps . . .me
Is not what's best for me.
I don't trust me all that much--

I'M STUFFED, WHICH MEANS I'M BLESSED
I wanted to keep it simple: The menu
Turkey & Dressing
Greens & Cornbread
Mashed Potatoes & Gravy
Macaroni & Cheese
Peach Cobbler Ala mode
Cake (from scratch)
I began cooking the day before Thanksgiving. I actually used pretty good time management even for this fairly simple dinner (everything made from scratch). Cooking is therapeutic for me, I enjoy it although I don't enjoy the cleanup so much.
Having a Thanksgiving meal with just "my 4 and no more" is a little isolated I admit; but sometimes--especially during these times--peace cannot be compromised or forfeited to appease those who you might only see a few times a year, if that.
No love lost . . .
Food for the cupboard.
A cupboard for the food.
I'd say that's a win-win!
No bad news.
No news thats bad.
No news at all.
I'd say that's good news!
I hope that you enjoyed your day as much. Happy Thanksgiving, everybody!

Hello!
Hello again--I am giving it my best shot.
Life, I mean. Winter is coming you know; and I'm afraid that it has been wintry in my life, as it is. Can I stand to bear more? How about you? It is tough to gird up for it. The routine of getting properly dressed during winter is a monotonous must, spiritually speaking. And literally.
There is a lot to be said about everything; and everybody wants to be the one to say it. Including me . . .But I'll have to remain patient and bide my time. AND GET THRU THIS COLD, LONELY WINTER!
I'll hang in there, if you will, okay? Deal.

???WHAT'S THE WORD??? IS THERE A WORD???
my grey matter is grayer than usual today. i heard a word and then i forgot it. it's so embarrassing to hear a "good word" from the Lord and to disregard it as though i can remember it later. i didn't write it down, i didn't contemplate it, i didn't think about it twice . . . but i did agree with it. go figure!
my mind if full of His good Word; my heart overflows as well. so much to be thankful for yet "mum" is the word from me. honestly! i need to be on my knees with my hands raised in thankfulness to the Lord every chance i get.
i have the nerve to sulk over the fact that i cannot "hear" from Him anymore - some nerve.
WHAT IS THE WORD? "BIRD" is the word . . . no, "GREASE" is the word . . . b-i-b-l-e has all the words that i'll ever need.

staying focused
Staying focused is sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo hard to do.
Believe me, I am trying.
As long as my face is looking in the mirror of truth , I can see. That is when the light is on, and I am okay. But as soon as I close the Book , it becomes dark once again all around me. This world is such a dark place to try to stay upbeat and on track in.
Forward march! Up and at 'em! Get up! Keep going! Don't you dare stop!
Having a routine is best for me, or else I tend to look up and find myself sitting there while the day has passed by me. So I guess I had better try harder to get something done today, today, today.
It's a looooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooong way til tomorrow.
